BOBBY ORR HALL OF FAME
EXHIBIT DESIGN
Bobby Orr Hall of Fame
Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada
Bobby Orr was born and raised in Parry Sound, a small town on the shores of Georgian Bay. Orr remains deeply connected to the unique landscape of the bay that influenced his love of nature and nurtured his early years as a hockey player.
Our design was similarly influenced by the landscape of lakes, rivers, forests, and rock. Visitors are invited to participate in a multi-sensory experience that creates physical and thematic links between the land and athletic greatness.
The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame is a celebration of what this Canadian icon, and the town of Parry Sound, stands for. The exhibition uses artifacts, stories, photos, and custom artwork to tell the Bobby Orr story and to share his values with the next generation of athletes.
What makes Parry Sound such a fruitful ground for athletic greatness? How have indigenous people contributed to the development of sport in the area? What universal values can be learned from participation in sport? The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame responds to these questions through a forward-looking design that integrates historic storytelling and contemporary subjects and media.
