NOVA SCOTIA Business Hall of Fame
PORTRAIT GALLERY
Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame
Rowe School of Business Atrium at Dalhousie University
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Project Objective:
Establish a highly visible, publicly accessible, permanent, and curated portrait gallery, and a contemporary, interactive and engaging digital strategy.
Vision and Mission:
To engage and inspire Nova Scotians and the world with the stories and the history of Nova Scotian business leaders through the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame Laureates – titans of industry, business, and entrepreneurship.
Design:
The gallery is integrated into the main atrium of the Rowe School of Business and provides high exposure to the hall of fame due to its adjacency with three large lecture halls and other faculty and student spaces. A careful balance of contemporary and classic styling was needed to respect older audiences while remaining relevant and engaging to students. Printed content was kept brief, keeping the emphasis on the portraits whereas nearby touchscreens provided opportunities for more in depth exploration of the featured laureates.
"The portraits are culturally significant content and represent our economic heritage. The gallery is a curated interactive and educative experience hosted by The Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University."
