Forest County Potawatomi Museum
Crandon, WI

2,700 sq. feet

The Forest County Potawatomi Museum was created in part to educate the public with a permanent exhibit interpreting significant historical and contemporary events and to pass the history, culture and traditions of the Community to the next generations. Bluewater Studio, in partnership with Lord Cultural Resources, WeatherstonBruer Associates and Angle Park led the planning, design, fabrication and installation of a new innovative 2700 square foot interpretive exhibit to tell the stories of the Forest County Potawatomi people in new ways to more effectively reach multiple generations of tribal and non-tribal visitors.

Visitors first encounter a large fire sculpture showcasing the four sacred medicines of the Forest County Potawatomi and honoring their position as “Keepers of the Fire.” Within the circular gallery, visitors choose their own path as they discover interactive elements, media and immersive experiences, eye-catching graphic panels, and engaging exhibits.
